A fractional CTO is a part-time technical lead: someone who owns the technical decisions for a company that doesn’t need, or can’t yet justify, a full-time CTO. For a startup or SaaS company that usually means choosing the architecture and tech stack, deciding what to build and what to buy, writing the technical roadmap, vetting and interviewing developers, reviewing code and security, and answering the technical questions investors ask. The difference here is that the same team designs, builds and runs production software, so the advice comes from people who ship it. When the roadmap calls for a build, we can take it on through Web Design, Web Apps & SaaS or Custom AI Agents, each quoted from its own written scope. The work is mostly remote, for Houston, Austin and the rest of Texas, with on-site time in Houston when it helps. Code repositories, cloud accounts and domains stay in your company’s name, and decisions are written down so a future full-time CTO can pick them up.
