Flat-price IT support in Houston, with no monthly contract
Most IT companies in Houston sell a monthly contract, priced per user, before they look at anything. We publish the price of common jobs instead: business email that lands in spam fixed for $299, a new-hire computer set up for $195 per device, and small office security from $950. You pay once, and the accounts stay in your name.
If you later want someone looking after things every month, we quote a month-to-month retainer for your business. That is what most people mean by managed IT services in Houston, and it starts after a first job, so you see how we work before you commit.
On-site means an engineer travels to your site for the work that needs a person in front of the hardware. Everything else, including monitoring, backups, automation, cloud environments, and application work, runs over the same remote tooling we use for clients elsewhere in Texas. Driving across the metro to read a dashboard would only slow things down.
Visits are scheduled ahead of time. The Houston metro is wide, and a site in The Woodlands and a site in Pearland are the better part of two hours apart, so we book a slot with you and don’t promise same-hour arrival. When something is down, we connect remotely first, because that is faster than any drive.
What does need someone on-site
Structured cabling and anything behind a wall plate. Physical server, switch and firewall installs or swaps. Rack work. Faults that have been narrowed down to the hardware. First-time network builds at a new office, where somebody has to see the space.
What does not need a visit: nearly everything else. Server configuration, virtual servers, network segmentation, backup and recovery testing, monitoring and alerting, cloud migration, automation and integration work, and every kind of software development are done remotely for Houston clients too. Remote is the default way of working, and on-site visits are for the cases that need one.

What happens to card machines and email if power or internet is out for days?
It depends on what each one needs. Email and files in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace are kept in the provider’s data centers, so they stay reachable from any phone or laptop that has a connection, even when your office has no power. What stops is whatever relies on your office power or your internet line: card machines on the office network, desk phones, a server in the closet. For card machines, the fix is a backup internet connection (cellular, 5G or Starlink) that takes over by itself, but the router and card machines still need power, and a cellular line is only as good as the nearby towers. Before storm season, check that your backups are kept off-site and can be restored, and that the logins to your email, domain and accounts are yours. Repair Forge IT sets up and tests backup internet for Houston businesses.
