Signs your backup may not save you

Nobody can say when it last ran, or where the copy goes.
"Backup" means OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive sync.
Email isn’t part of it.
The backup drive sits in the same office as the computers.
It has never been restored from.

Why it matters

A sync folder copies mistakes and ransomware as faithfully as it copies files. A backup report that says "success" means the copy finished, not that it can be restored. The day you find out is usually the day you need it.
